Three Birch Trees LLC is owned by partners Melissa Sodano, Emily Chalupczynski, and Brian Kluchurosky. For more than 20 years, we've worked together in a variety of roles where we developed a strong sense of shared ethics and standards of practice, along with a passion to support individuals in their socialization and overall life fulfillment. 

  • Emily Chalupczynski

    Emily is a licensed behavioral specialist with 16 years of direct work experience with neurodiversity and 5 years of administrative experience. Emily has experience working with autism, transition age youth, and behavioral health needs where she creates a safe place for individuals to explore what matters most to them. Using strength-based approaches, Emily focuses on meeting people where they are at in life and providing support at a pace that’s comfortable. She believes in providing a calming, supportive environment to build up personal confidence and wellness for addressing everyday needs.

  • Melissa Sodano

    Melissa holds a license in social work with 18 years of direct work experience with neurodiversity and 5 years of administrative experience. Melissa has found creating an atmosphere of individual comfort through a person-centered and strength-based approach to be the core of service. Being ever-present and imploring mindfulness techniques, Melissa is dedicated to understanding your perspective by exploring your thoughts and feelings while building a trusting relationship for growth.

  • Brian Kluchurosky

    Brian holds a Master of Science in Applied Developmental Psychology with 20 years of direct work experience with neurodiversity and 14 years of administrative experience. Brian has also trained on neurodiversity internationally and was the recipient of the 2019 Temple Grandin Award, presented by the Autism Connection of PA for excellence, advocacy, and innovation within the autism community. Brian has supported adolescents, adults, and families in learning practical strategies for adapting to everyday change while combating the stigma and misunderstanding associated with autism. Brian believes autism is a part of who we all are, and becoming comfortable with this concept and how it impacts each one of us is a key to success and fulfillment in everyday living.

OVR Staff

  • Julie Leeper

    Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and behavior analysis with 7 years of direct work experience with autism, behavioral health, transition age youth and adults. Using strength-based approaches, Julie focuses on teaching life and employment skills by breaking down tasks into smaller steps, to work towards fluency and independence of the task. It is her goal to provide a supportive environment for new skills to be learned and for personal independence to grow.

  • Dr. Julie Macha

    Dr. Macha has a Ph.D in Special Education and a history of over 30 years working with youth within Allegheny county in several educational and social service roles. She is dedicated to giving back to the community by helping serve those that are in need the most, working with many adolescents to reach independence within.a variety of areas. Dr. Macha has a passion for watching the growth of the students and families she works with and helping to shape our future generation.

Locations & Facilities:

The Three Birch Trees LLC office is located at 900 Sarah Street in the South Side area of Pittsburgh. Our team not only works with individuals and groups in an office setting in Allegheny County’s South Hills neighborhoods, but collaborates with school districts, libraries and workplaces across the region.
